Who we are

This website is operated by Adam Hughes, trading as Adam Hughes Marketing ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller for any personal data collected through this website.

Contact: adam@adamhughes.studio
Address: Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what your rights are under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect and why

Contact form enquiries

When you submit the contact form on this website, we collect:

  • First and last name
  • Work email address
  • Company name (optional)
  • Service of interest
  • Approximate monthly marketing budget (optional)
  • Your message

Purpose: To respond to your enquiry and assess whether we can work together.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) - it is in both parties' legitimate interest to communicate about potential business engagements. Where we follow up by email, we rely on the same basis, as you have initiated contact with a clear commercial intent.

Google Fonts

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests a font file, your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers. We have no control over Google's processing of this data.

Legal basis: Legitimate interests - using a hosted font service is standard web practice with minimal privacy impact.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

What we do not collect

We do not currently use any analytics software (such as Google Analytics), advertising trackers, or third-party cookies on this website. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

How long we keep your data

Enquiry data is retained for as long as it is reasonably necessary to manage the potential or ongoing business relationship, typically no longer than two years from the date of last contact. If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will do so promptly (see Your Rights below).

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share data only where strictly necessary:

  • Email service providers - your enquiry is delivered to our inbox via standard email infrastructure.
  • Legal obligations - if required to disclose data by law or regulatory authority.

International transfers

Your data is processed and stored within the UK and EEA. Where any service provider operates outside the UK or EEA (such as Google for font loading), appropriate safeguards are in place under UK GDPR adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access - to request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification - to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure - to request that we delete your data where there is no legitimate reason to continue holding it.
  • Right to restriction - to ask us to pause processing your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability - to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
  • Right to object - to object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at adam@adamhughes.studio. We will respond within one calendar month.

Cookies

This website does not set any first-party cookies. The only third-party request made is to Google Fonts; Google may set its own cookies subject to their privacy policy. No consent banner is currently required as no tracking or analytics cookies are used.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Website: ico.org.uk
Helpline: 0303 123 1113

We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly before you contact the ICO.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of this website after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
